The short answer is 3 to 4 months for most people. The useful answer takes a little longer, because "how long does it last" is really three questions stacked together: when will I see anything, when does it peak, and when do I need to come back.
Here is the timeline as it actually runs.
The appointment itself: 15 to 30 minutes
Botox is the fastest treatment on our menu. From the time you sit down to the time you leave is typically 15 to 30 minutes. At our clinic, Botox is administered by licensed injectors, and as with everything we do, a consultation comes first so the plan is built around your face rather than a generic map of injection points.
The areas most often treated are forehead lines, crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes, and frown lines between the brows. Those three share a trait: they are dynamic lines, created by muscle movement you repeat thousands of times a day without noticing.
Days 3 to 5: something starts happening
You will not walk out of the office looking different. Botox works by relaxing the muscle, and that takes time to take effect. Most people start noticing a change around day 3 to day 5.
The first sign is usually subtle. You raise your eyebrows out of habit and less happens than you expected. That is the treatment beginning to work, not the finished result.
Days 7 to 10: the full result
By 7 to 10 days you are seeing what you paid for. This is the point at which it makes sense to evaluate the outcome, take a photo, and decide whether anything should be adjusted next time.
Two practical consequences of that timeline:
- Plan ahead for events. If there is a wedding, a reunion or a photography session on your calendar, book at least two weeks out. Treating three days before is cutting it close.
- Do not judge the result at day 4. People sometimes decide the treatment did not work when they are simply looking at it too early.
Months 3 to 4: the fade
The effect wears off gradually, not all at once. Muscle movement returns bit by bit, and most people find that somewhere in the 3 to 4 month range their lines look the way they used to. That is the normal course and it is why maintenance is part of the arrangement with Botox in a way it is not with a regenerative treatment.
Where you land in that range varies. Metabolism, how strong the treated muscles are, and how expressive you naturally are all play a part. Some people track like clockwork at four months. Others notice movement returning closer to three. Your injector will get a feel for your pattern after a cycle or two.
How to plan maintenance
The simplest approach is to book your next appointment while you are still happy with the current one, rather than waiting until the lines are fully back. Working backward from the calendar is easy: results are complete at 7 to 10 days, so an appointment two weeks before anything important is comfortable timing.
Our hours make planning easier for people who work standard schedules. We are open Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and closed Saturday through Monday. A 15 to 30 minute treatment fits into a lunch break without much rearranging, and the office at 7493 N Oracle Rd #105 sits right on the Oracle Road corridor just south of Ina, which keeps it convenient from most of the northwest side.
Botox and PRF do different jobs
This trips people up, so it is worth stating clearly. Botox relaxes muscles, so it addresses lines caused by movement. PRF works on the skin itself, supporting collagen and texture using growth factors drawn from your own blood. They are aimed at different problems.
Plenty of clients care about both. Carla Noriega, who had microneedling with PRF here, described improvement in her under-eye wrinkles and forehead after treatment. That is the skin quality side of the equation. If you want to understand what PRF does and where it fits, start with PRF microneedling or ask about it at your Botox consultation.
One Tucson note
Sun exposure and dry air contribute to how lines look on the face, and neither is in short supply here. Botox will not change what the climate does to your skin quality. If what bothers you is crepey texture as much as the crease itself, say so at your consultation, because the answer may involve more than one approach.
